Dear visitor, 

Behind every thing there is a story, and the story of these cards is closely tied to family. 

The name Good Times Lettering Co. came from my great, great grandmother, Sarah Levings. I have this certificate of hers from something called the “Order of the Good Time” in Nova Scotia. The order’s purpose is “fellowship and good cheer,” encouraging visitors to enjoy their time, remember their stay fondly, speak well of it, and return. Beautiful, right? When it came to sharing my creative endeavors with others, I wanted fellowship, good cheer, fond memories, kind words, and good times to be at the heart of everything I made. 

Then, there’s my grandmother’s influence. She was the queen of handwritten notes. With every card I watched her write, and every card I received from her, I learned about the significance of taking time to think of someone, thank someone, or encourage someone with a handwritten note, especially if you have pretty stationary to go with it. 

My mom, the artist of the family, helped me discover my artistic ability. When I was young, I’d watch her take calls on our house phone while doodling designs on scrap pieces of paper. She’s a talented painter, but to me, her doodles were more impressive and something I could actually replicate. I'd take her scrap paper and try copying her doodles in my school notebooks. The simple pen drawings seen on these cards come from years of aspiring to be as talented as my mom. 

In a way, these cards are more for me than for others. It’s a way to honor my family and the things I've learned from them, and steward the creative gift that the Lord has blessed me with. It’s the making of these cards that's been the gift. 

For those who purchase my cards, thank you! You are an encouragement to me to keep creating. I am grateful to know you will be taking time to think of, thank, or encourage someone with one of my cards. Don’t forget, these were made for good cheer, fond memories, kind words, and good times, so use them for purposefully.
